Description:

Through January 3, 2009, a million lights will brighten the mountain with more than 25 holiday scenes along the Enchanted Trail. This award-winning light extravaganza has become a family tradition for tens of thousands of visitors every Christmas season.

“Rock City’s Enchanted Garden of Lights continues as the premier Greater Chattanooga Area holiday event,” said Andrew Kean, general manager and vice president of Rock City. “Come out and spend time making holiday memories with your family and friends at this outdoor holiday spectacular.”

Enjoy traditional gingerbread cookie decorating and nightly entertainment in the pavilion – next to a warm fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa. A new offer this year is Sugar Plum Fairy Makeovers - available for children to enjoy face painting or dress up in costume and be magical fairies for a night (for an additional charge). And don’t leave without a picture with Old St. Nick!

Some of the featured entertainment is back, including a signing choir called “Vision to Hear,” as well as one of Chattanooga’s favorite bands, “Sweet Georgia Sound.” Go to www.seerockcity.com/lights for the complete schedule of nightly entertainment, tickets, discounts for select colleges and other promotional offers. The Enchanted Garden of Lights is open from 6 pm to 9 pm nightly.

Visit Rock City during the day and get an upgraded ticket to the Enchanted Garden of Lights for only $5. Tickets can be purchased at seerockcity.com or upon arrival and includes free parking. A portion of ticket proceeds for the Enchanted Garden of Lights goes to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Starbucks is also onsite in the former Cornerstone Station. Just six miles from downtown Chattanooga, Tenn., Rock City is an enchanted, 4,100-foot walking trail showcasing lush gardens and soaring rock formations. Call 1-800-854-0675 for group rates and holiday event information.
