Indie Music For Life, Inc is a non profit organization that raises money for cancer research and for educational awareness programs on the benefits of music as therapy to cancer patients. This concert is part of the “2008 Indie Nation Fights Cancer” tours that are being organized all across the United States. Scheduled performers are locals Martha Ann Brooks and the duo Barbara Shell & Terrie Williams. Other artists taking part in the fundraising concert are Lauren LaPointe from Savannah, GA, Maire McGilvray from Nashville, TN and Vicki Blankenship from Martinsville, VA. Blankenship is the Founder/President of the Indie Music For Life, Inc. non profit and devotes much of her touring time to the fight against cancer. The artists will sit on stage at the same time and do an in the round performance session showcasing their various styles.
