Fourteen years ago, a brutal car crash stole not only Mateo Blanco’s sight, but also Lena (Penélope Cruz), the love of his life. After the accident, Mateo (Lluis Homar) reduces himself to his literary pseudonym, Harry Caine, and erases any trace of his former identity, until flashbacks bring the story of Mateo and Lena back to life. Shot in the style of a 1950s American film noir, but in bright color rather than black-and-white, the film received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.
